A garden is a wonderful metaphor for life. Come visit my garden where you may find occasional bugs, droughts, and floods, but there is also planting, nourishing, nurturing, and growth. I hope you find, as I have, some of the most beautiful creations blooming here.

Two Weeks After The Fact

I was a lame-o mom for Halloween.  We did it as simply as I could make it.  Nelumbo's costume is the only one I really made much effort for, and it wasn't much (although he did look pretty cute, if you ask me!).

I guess I just don't care enough about this holiday.  The kids were happy and I was happy they didn't require more than what they got.

I let the kids keep fifteen pieces each from the Trunk-or-Treat and Trick-or-Treating.  They had to hand over the rest (minus what they had stuffed in their mouths before I made my 15/30 candy limit).  Surprisingly, they  did it with minimal complaining.  JDawg was going to take the rest to work after I selected what I wanted.

The candy never made it out of the house. I kept wondering where the candy was as each little bag disappeared one at a time.  I thought JDawg must have been responsible since the plan was for him to take it all to work but it didn't go all at once.  He denied taking any to work.  My only other conclusion is that Ginger sneaked it away a little at a time.  I did find her with multiple wrappers from time to time.  I just never put it all together that she had been eating SO MUCH CANDY!
