Norfolk Pines were brought in the 1700's to serve as material for ship masts. They soon discovered that they were super dense with all the sap these trees produce. As a result, they were too heavy to serve as masts. This forest remains as evidence of a failed project.

That would make me really nervous, but it is still about one of the only adventurous things that I want to try someday. I know Brad would love it!
